Wound Care & Dressings

Wounds should not be licked as there is a risk of infection and removal of stitches. We recommend using a buster collar to prevent your pet from interfering with their surgical site. Most pets learn to cope with collars very well and they can certainly save a lot of potential problems. Your pet will have two post-op checks with a vet or nurse after their surgery and if you are worried about your petís operation site then please call you local Nine Mile vet clinic.
